The first weekend of the academic year, Brussels tempts you for a 'nuit blanche'. Everywhere in the world several cities invite you the whole night to (re)discover them by comtemporary cultural creations in a warm and festive atmosphere. What started as a European manifest (Paris, Riga, Rome, Brussels, Madrid, Bucharest) spread out over the globe (Istanbul, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Lisbon, New-York, Toronto, Naples, Montréal) and turns the whole happening in a unique mundial experience.
The Nuit Blanche reveals Brussels in astonishment and the Rits Café adds to that with a "Café Chantant", an intermediate between concert and karaoke. Two singers rediscover songs of yore and today, in French, Dutch and English (from Edith Piaf to Axelle Red, from Clouseau to Britney Spears), and have the public sung with them. Spectators can relax with a beer and follow the texts to enjoy, go crazy or get carried away to another dimension. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate with well-known songs, supported by piano or guitar and a humoristic scenografy ... entertainment assured! Aline Salvé and Dorothée Maréchal are two offsprings of the Ateliers Chanson and developed their own musical projects: Elina Valse of Aline (writer-composer-performer), Le Défilé en Avant/Après of Dorothée (writer-composer-performer).
